Hedge Cutter - HC The Hedge Cutter - HC Series is is 1.5 meters long and cuts up to 40mm in diameter. The huge benefit with these hedge cutters is they are low maintenance with induvidually replaceable blades and come supplied with mounting bracket and hoses. It is designed as an attachment for mini diggers from sizes 1.5 tons to 7.5 tons. It includes an adjustable swival bracket which allows the operator to cut hedges behind fences.

The hedge trimmer attachment can be attached very quickly to the digger boom using a hydraulically powered reciprocating finger-bar cutting mechanism driven off the standard rock-breaker circuit of the power unit’s hydraulic system. The design allows cutting to take place at any angle between horizontal and vertical, which facilitates working close to and around obstacles such as telephone poles, fences, walls etc. It is also possible to use the attachment to effectively trim behind fences, leaving a very professional finish. Stems of up to 40mm diameter can be cut cleanly leaving a very tidy finish on the hedge, which ensures minimum disturbance for wildlife while leaving more satisfactory conditions for re-growth.

The system is less noisy in operation than flail cutting devices and is also safer, as there is no flying debris to consider. This allows the device to be used in relatively close proximity to other workers and also in built up areas where pedestrians and traffic would rule out the use of most flail based cutters.

The HC150 has been adapted with a manual telescopic slide arm and hydraulic tilt to work on some of the Avant Multipurpose machines. Mounted on the Avants you have a standard minimum overall width of the unit at 1.730 mm. This gives a maximum of side reach of 900 mm. We are confident that the HC150 could be mounted on other makes and models of multipurpose machines. Using the Hedge Trimmer in this way gives access to small tight compact areas such as Tow Paths, Parks, Footpaths and Alleyways. We have proven that the smaller multipurpose machine can quickly and efficiently trim hedges where perhaps historically hand held machines have previously been used – making the work safer and easier!

The models available are – the HC150 with a cutterbar length of 1.5 m is suitable for mini-diggers up to 3 T capacity, while the HC180 with a cutterbar of 1.8 m is suitable for machines up to 7 T.

Newly developed is the HC200, HC250 and HC300. The HC300 is specialised for pruning apple trees.

There are extension arms available to give a higher reach.
